Recent updates include the addition of Supervised Friending, allowing parents to offer kids the responsibility to add and remove contacts themselves (though parents will still be able to override these decisions). Parents set up and manage contact lists on their own devices and there are no in-app purchases or ads in Messenger Kids. Kids can turn on dark mode by tapping into their Messenger Kids settings and selecting “Dark mode.” They can choose to turn the feature on, off, or use phone settings to automatically change how their app looks based on their phone settings. Dark mode cuts down on the glare from your phone, is great for low light situations, and provides lower brightness while maintaining contrast and vibrancy.
